Thanksgiving is my favorite of all the secular holidays. This is because it is designed to give thanks to God for all that we have – our lives, our family, our health…and our values. This last one is what keeps us in touch for the possibility of achieving that which is most important in our lives – Higher Consciousness.
Of course, this may mean different things to different people depending on where one is spiritually holding. And none of it is wrong as some souls are younger while other souls are older. By this I mean that some souls have incarnated more often than others and have worked on themselves to advance their tikkun or soul correction.
God is a patient God. While their are universal truths under God’s Law, no two souls are exactly “equal”. Each one has different strengths and different weaknesses in accordance with the Divine Plan for that soul, which transcends multiple lifetimes. Hence the importance of understanding the inner workings of reincarnation, which means the process of the transmigration of the soul. In Hebrew this is called Gilgul. In any case, gaining insight into this knowledge is meant to be a guide to help us answer the most basic question that a person can ask of God – what do you want?
